Foreigner is a British-American rock band, originally formed in New York City in 1976 by veteran English musician Mick Jones and fellow Briton Ian McDonald (former member of English rock band King Crimson) along with American vocalist Lou Gramm. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Mick Jones (lead guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, and vocals), Thom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, saxophone, flute, keyboards, and vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass guitar, vocals), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals, percussion), Michael Bluestein (keyboards, vocals), and Chris Frazier (drums, percussion). They’ve had a stellar career with 9 studio albums, 5 live albums, 13 compilation albums, 39 singles, and they’ve sold more than 80 million records worldwide. Cheap Trick, a hard rock outfit from Rockford (Illinois), was formed in 1973 and is ranked number 25 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. They’ve had an illustrious career with 17 studio albums, 6 live albums, 17 compilation albums, 7 music videos, 2 extended plays, and 64 singles. In 2007, the Illinois Senate passed a resolution declaring April 1 as Cheap Trick Day in the state and the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
